If Aesop were around to tell us truths found in the Poinsonwood Bible, what would some of his truths be? I can imagine a story about Father Missionary ending in: It is dangerous to walk in the dark alone--meaning if we run on passions alone, we are bound to get lost sooner or later.

Perhaps he would tell a tale of a deaf soul relying on his trust in others vs. a person with perfect hearing who did not use his gift causing him to take the wrong path.??? Great question.

I can also see Father Missionary as he went up in flames for sticking to his beliefs. Although I think he was suffering from the trauma of his war experience, I find it hard to forgive his mistreatment of others, including his harsh punishment of his daughters. To claim to be a man of God and to behave as he did at times, makes me question his faith. I am sure the Congolese saw him as a man of conflicting actions which could only hurt his work toward leading them to salvation.

I think it is Bloom where you are planted...Depending upon the ground in which you are planted will result in how well you bloom or the changes that will occur in your growth process. If you allow the poison that flows in your ground to usurp the nutrients from the ground than that is what will flow through your veins; however, if you allow the LOVE of Christ to transform that poison to nutrients and power, what others see you coming from will not be where they see you going. Christ gives you the power to Heal yourselves...we don't have to wait for the priest anymore...we don't have to wait till we go to church...we can truly with the help of Jesus do Greater works than He did...That is a promise that was given to us on the day of Resurrection.

I think this is a lesson in choosing the correct path... many paths are open, which one will you choose?
